Adam Schreiber Exhibits Artwork in York College's Graphic Design Senior Exhibition

2012 Apr 16

Adam Schreiber of New Freedom will exhibit a culminating senior project in York College's Graphic Design Senior Exhibition, which will be on display from April 27 to May 28 in York College Galleries. Schreiber is the son of John and Lela Schreiber. Schreiber's project, "The Experience," is a poster and guerrilla sticker campaign targeting the popular brands Hollister and Abercrombie. The "Experience" movement is intended to inform the public of what the brand stands for and what it actually portrays to the public, said Schreiber. The stickers are hand-lettered with statements about the companies projected image. "I've always had a problem with people pretending to be something other than what they really are, and those companies really promote that through their fake surf shirts and like-minded mentalities," said Schreiber. "The Experience" posters and stickers are hand-illustrated and redrawn in Adobe Illustrator. Visit facebook.com/OFFICIALTheExperience for more information on this campaign, including how to download free campaign stickers and posters.

Graphic design majors present thematically cohesive bodies of work showcasing the skills and techniques they have acquired at the College before leaving to pursue careers as professional artists and designers. The students work collectively during their final semester to refine their creative vision and learn to present themselves and their work in a professional manner. This process culminates with an exhibition of their work and Senior Portfolio Presentations.

Located in southcentral Pennsylvania, York College offers more than 50 baccalaureate majors in professional programs, the sciences and humanities to its 4,600 undergraduate students.
