Colleen Carney an Secondary Education-Social Studies major of Glen Wood, NJ, has been named to the York College of Pennsylvania Kappa Delta Pi International Honor Society in Education.

The Society inducts only those individuals who have exhibited the ideals of scholarship, integrity in service, and commitment to excellence in teaching and its allied professions. Selection as a member of Kappa Delta Pi is based on high academic achievement, a commitment to education as a career, and a professional attitude that assures steady growth in the profession. At York College of Pennsylvania, members must earn Pre-Professional Education Status (PPES) and have an overall GPA of a 3.5 for secondary and middle school education majors, or a 3.7 for early childhood and/or dual majors.

Located in southcentral Pennsylvania, York College offers more than 50 baccalaureate majors in professional programs, the sciences and humanities to its 4,600 undergraduate students. The College also offers master's programs in business, education and nursing, and a doctorate in nursing practice.
