Bob Hoffman Student Writing Contest

The Bob Hoffman Student Writing Contest is sponsored annually by the Bob Hoffman Foundation and the Department of English and Humanities. Cash prizes are given for the best submissions in four categories: poetry, short fiction, flash fiction, creative nonfiction.

More than 50 students were recently named to York College's Senior Honor Society. Membership in this society is limited to the five percent of the senior class members who have achieved a cumulative GPA of 2.8 or better and who have demonstrated "continuing leadership and involvement in extra-curricular and/or community activities during his/her years at York College."

Senior Fine Art and Graphic Design Exhibition

Senior Fine Art and Graphic Design students will exhibit their work at York College Galleries from Dec. 4 - 16. The show opens on Dec. 4 with presentations from the artists at 5 p.m. in DeMeester Recital Hall and a reception at 5:45 p.m. in the lobby of Evelyn and Earle Wolf Hall. Awards will be presented at 6:15 p.m. in the Cora Miller Gallery. The exhibition will be on display until Dec. 16. The exhibition, presentations and reception are open to the public and free of charge.

Elevator Pitch Competition

York College students with an idea for a new business had three minutes or less to pitch their concepts to judges during the J.D. Brown Center for Entrepreneurship's annual Elevator Pitch Competition. The winners - assessed by a panel of successful business men and women on innovativeness, potential commercial impact and effectiveness of presentation - were awarded with cash and an opportunity for workspace in the Center to help bring their businesses to fruition.

York College students to represent American Chemical Society at COP20 in Peru

Eight student delegates -- two from York College of Pennsylvania -- will officially represent the American Chemical Society at the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change 20th Conference of the Parties (COP20). More than 190 nations will gather in Lima, Peru, from Dec. 1 to 12 to forge an international climate change agreement.

Awarded to the Doctor of Nursing Practice graduate who has demonstrated excellence in clinical scholarship by translating the most current evidence into the clinical practice setting. The recipient has conducted an evidence-based practice project that has the potential to transform health care in this region of the country through his/her leadership role.
