Megan Jones, a senior supply chain and operations management major in the Graham School of Business at York College was awarded the APICS student of the year award from the APICS Lancaster-York Chapter, where she serves as VP-Education of the student chapter on campus. APICS is the premier professional association for supply chain and operations management.

Over 1400 students were named to the Dean's List at York College of Pennsylvania. To be eligible for this honor, a student must be registered for at least 12 academic credit hours and earn a semester GPA of 3.50 or higher.

More than 295 students graduated from York College of Pennsylvania on Dec. 22.

The Bob Hoffman Student Writing Contest is sponsored annually by the Bob Hoffman Foundation and the Department of English and Humanities. Cash prizes are given for the best submissions in four categories: poetry, short fiction, flash fiction, creative nonfiction.

Abigail Costello, a senior theatre major from Burlington, N.J., will direct York College's production of "Abigail/1702." The play will be presented at 7:30 p.m. in Perko Theatre from Nov. 18 - 21.

Senior Fine Art and Graphic Design students will exhibit their work at York College Galleries from Dec. 4 - 16. The show opens on Dec. 4 with presentations from the artists at 5 p.m. in DeMeester Recital Hall and a reception at 5:45 p.m. in the lobby of Evelyn and Earle Wolf Hall. Awards will be presented at 6:15 p.m. in the Cora Miller Gallery. The exhibition will be on display until Dec. 16. The exhibition, presentations and reception are open to the public and free of charge.

York College students with an idea for a new business had three minutes or less to pitch their concepts to judges during the J.D. Brown Center for Entrepreneurship's annual Elevator Pitch Competition. The winners - assessed by a panel of successful business men and women on innovativeness, potential commercial impact and effectiveness of presentation - were awarded with cash and an opportunity for workspace in the Center to help bring their businesses to fruition.

Eight student delegates -- two from York College of Pennsylvania -- will officially represent the American Chemical Society at the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change 20th Conference of the Parties (COP20). More than 190 nations will gather in Lima, Peru, from Dec. 1 to 12 to forge an international climate change agreement.

Several York College students are chosen each year for the American Constitutional Freedom Scholarship, a full-tuition scholarship awarded to eligible applicants who demonstrate their understanding of the rights and liberties delineated in the U.S. Constitution and how these principles relate to the concept of free enterprise.

Melanie Hanson, a junior theatre major from Lincoln University, Pa., will direct York College's production of "The Anastasia File." The play will be presented at 7:30 p.m. in Perko Theatre from Nov. 19-22.

Rebecca Wendowski, a senior theatre major from Pompton Lakes, N.J., will direct York College's production of "Doubt: A Parable." The play will be presented at 7:30 p.m. in Perko Theatre from Nov. 5 to 8.

Kevin Durkin, a 2014 theatre graduate from Horsham, will direct York College's production of "Proof." The play will be presented at 7:30 p.m. in Perko Theatre from Oct. 22 to 25.

Awarded to the graduate who best represents the program's motto of vigilance, knowledge, and compassion.

Awarded for superior clinical performance and academic standing.

Awarded to the Doctor of Nursing Practice graduate who has demonstrated excellence in clinical scholarship by translating the most current evidence into the clinical practice setting. The recipient has conducted an evidence-based practice project that has the potential to transform health care in this region of the country through his/her leadership role.

The Sardari Khanna Academic Senate Scholarship is a half-tuition scholarship awarded annually from a fund generated by donations from the faculty of the College and named in honor of the longtime treasurer of the Academic Senate, Professor Sardari Khanna.
