A York College student was chosen as one of 203 finalists for The 7th Annual Create-A-Greeting-Card $10,000 Scholarship Contest, sponsored by Prudent Publishing.

Over 1400 students were named to the Dean's List at York College of Pennsylvania. To be eligible for this honor, a student must be registered for at least 12 academic credit hours and earn a semester GPA of 3.50 or higher.

Nearly 300 students graduated from York College of Pennsylvania on Dec. 18.

More than 50 students were recently named to York College's Senior Honor Society. Membership in this society is limited to the five percent of the senior class members who have achieved a cumulative GPA of 2.8 or better and who have demonstrated "continuing leadership and involvement in extra-curricular and/or community activities during his/her years at York College."

Eleven York College students spent two weeks in May traveling throughout Kenya and Tanzania as part of a course - Culture and Environmental Field Series - that examines the human and physical geographies of a particular international destination.

Local student named to Dean's List at York College of Pennsylvania

Students who earned a semester GPA of 3.50 or higher were named to Dean's List for the Spring 2013 semester at York College of Pennsylvania.

Nearly 700 students received degrees at York College of Pennsylvania's commencement exercises on May 18.

Students are annually named to Alpha Sigma Lambda Honor Society, the National Honor Society for Adult Learners. All are matriculated, part-time students in attendance for a minimum of four semesters, with a minimum of 60 credit hours completed, and a 3.5 or above grade point average.

Students earn numerous awards for academic achievement, outstanding service, and good character during York College's annual Student Recognition Ceremony.

Students are annually presented with Student Senate Service Awards, which recognizes outstanding student service to York College and the community during the academic year.

Students are annually recognized with Student Association Service Scholarship Awards, given for outstanding campus service and leadership through York College activities.

Membership in the Senior Honor Society at York College of Pennsylvania is limited to 5% of the graduating seniors who demonstrated academic achievement, leadership, plus participation in extracurricular college or community activities.

More than 150 teams competed at the May event in Kansas City by presenting their community service projects to CEOs and presidents of Fortune 500 companies.

Several local students will exhibit their culminating senior project during York College of Pennsylvania's Senior Graphic Design Exhibition, which will be on display from April 27 to May 28 in York College Galleries. Graphic design majors present thematically cohesive bodies of work showcasing the skills and techniques they have acquired at the College before leaving to pursue careers as professional artists and designers. The students work collectively during their final semester to refine their creative vision and learn to present themselves and their work in a professional manner. This process culminates with an exhibition of their work and the Senior Portfolio Presentations.

Several York College students recently participated in the National Model United Nations (NMUN) annual conference in New York City. This year's NMUN conference attracted more than 5,000 participants from more than 300 colleges and universities around the world. Focusing on the theme "Hope for Lasting Peace," the delegates spent five days simulating the inner-workings of the United Nations.
